Safety
Policy Statement
We believe all accidents are preventable. The prevention of accidents is given preference over
productivity. We
require all employees to put safety first and always follow safe
work practices. Worker
safety and training is a fundamental value in our company and
has full management involvement in both organization and
implementation.
A
Core Value
At Rabe, it’s about safety as a core
value, not just a priority. It’s who we are. We
have created a culture where we believe we can provide an injury
free environment for our people.
We know the safest companies share the same
fundamental values:
- Safety
is a corporate value
- Safety is incorporated in the production and installation processes
- Employees
must be engaged in the safety process
- Management
participation in the safety process is key
- Zero
injuries is an achievable goal
- Safety
takes priority over all other business functions
Safety is part of the process.
Planning, communication, implementation and
superior execution are the four key components of the Rabe
safety program.
The planning process begins at the
pre-construction phase of every job. Specific safety hazards are identified at the field
supervisor review meeting. The supervisor and project manager review the hazards and
specific safety precautions that will be utilized to oppress the
hazards and to put the necessary precautions into the job plan.
Such attention to detail has paid off for
Rabe. The company
has a lost workday incident rate of 2.09% vs. the construction
industry average of 5.52%.
No
Employee Left Behind
We know every employee must be engaged in
the safety process if the safety culture is to be
maintained. At Rabe we are committed to an uncompromising safety and
health environment and that basic belief that accidents can and
will be prevented.
 Safety
Comes First
Regardless of any projects completion
schedule, budget or special circumstances of any kind, safety
can never be compromised. At
Rabe every project receives a safety emphasis.
- Pre
job safety review with the project manager and field
supervisors to review safety issues and job specific hazards
- A
quality, efficiency, safety and teamwork (QUEST) huddle on
every job every day
- All
major projects are eligible for the safety 100 program, a
comprehensive and documented safety focus
- Weekly
jobsite reporting of site conditions by a member of the
jobsite safety team
Strive
To Be The Best
One philosophy shared by America’s safest
companies is that zero injuries is an obtainable goal.
Many companies work for years without a lost time
accident.
Our CEO has challenged us not only to be a
safe company in our industry, but to be the safest company in
all industry. His
vision is a totally accident free workplace.
