Quality is more than a slogan.
Examine the brochures or websites of
virtually any contractor and one will find the word
“quality” used frequently. It’s one of the key buzzwords – along with “on
time” and “on budget” that contractors have discovered
customers must hear if their company is to be seriously
considered for a project.
But, unlike “on time” and “on
budget”, which can be easily measured, quality has been more
of an impression, than an objective criteria. Until ISO.
ISO 9000 is a process oriented quality system standard
issue by the International Organization for
Standardization. The US is represented in ISO by ANSI (American National
Standards Institute). To
be certified as compliant to the ISO standard, a company must
have effective procedures in place for all of the following:
- Management Responsibility
- Contract Review
- Document and Data Control
- Control of Customer Supplied Product
- Process Control
- Control of Inspection, Measuring & Test
Equipment
- Control of Non-Conforming Product
- Handling, Storage, Packaging, Preservation &
Delivery
- Internal Quality Audits
|
- Servicing
- Quality System
- Design Control
- Purchasing
- Product Identification and Traceability
- Inspection & Testing
- Inspection & Test Status
- Corrective & Preventive Action

Our ISO 9001:2000 registration certifies that we have a quality
system that is both compliant and effective. Competitors may claim to be quality
contractors. We can prove our claim.
Quality is more than a slogan
It’s a program with standards, training and
accountability. Or
it’s an empty promise.
